Parasol: A Study in Ink and Blossom

Not every piece here swings a sword. Parasol starts the way the tattoo work does — with the line. A woman in profile, hair pinned up with sticks, a parasol resting on her shoulder. For the first stretch of this video there is no color at all, just ink deciding where everything lives.

The blossoms on the parasol get their detail early — they're the pattern the whole piece hangs on. Then the color arrives in layers: pink on the parasol and her wrap, deep red shadows behind her, and a background wash that makes the figure feel lit instead of placed.

She doesn't have a product yet. Some pieces are drawn because they need to exist; the store catches up later. More process pieces are collected on The Design Process page.
